Senior Managing Director

Bryan J. Perry, Ph.D., is an economics and litigation consulting expert with more than 10 years of experience working in antitrust and healthcare markets on a variety of projects, including hospital systems, physician organizations, health insurance plans, medical device companies and community health organizations.

Dr. Perry specializes in economic analysis for antitrust and other complex commercial litigation matters, utilizing extensive experience in the analysis of healthcare markets and class certification. His experience includes expert witness work in antitrust cases, product liability and environmental impact matters, contractual disputes and class certification proceedings.

Previously, Dr. Perry was a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Economic Consulting segment, where his antitrust practice included expert support in the litigation of federal and state antitrust laws and numerous reviews of healthcare transactions for hospital systems, provider groups and insurers. Prior to this role, Dr. Perry served as a senior director at Alvarez & Marsal.

Dr. Perry is a Ph.D. graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology economics program, where he was a National Science Foundation fellow. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Health Care Policy where his research focused on the impact of policy on healthcare provider behavior and performance.

Dr. Perry has written on topics including certificate of need regulation, health care system reimbursement, Medicare, macroeconomic fluctuations and monetary policy. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Economic Studies and the Annals of Economics and Finance. Additionally, Dr. Perry has been awarded the NBER Health and Aging Pre-Doctoral Fellowship and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

– Antitrust litigation involving allegations of conspiracy, monopolization, exclusive dealing and copyright and trade secret infringement
– Market definition, market share and market power analyses in the medical device, consumer products, athletics, software, hospital system and physician provider marketplaces
– Class certification, liability and damages expert witness work in class action litigation, including antitrust violations, product liability damages, environmental impact and contractual disputes
– Design of statistical random sampling methodologies for healthcare and automotive warranty claims audit disputes
– Authorship of expert reports in federal and state regulatory disputes
